Therapy for Chronic Stress, Burnout, and Perfectionism

Nobody needs to be told there is not enough time. The societal norm has become long to-do lists, endless emails to answer, countless commitments, and a maddening amount of distractions to derail all of the above. Despite a cultural obsession with productivity, optimization, and time management hacks, we seem to remain as over-committed, overwhelmed, and under satisfied as ever.

Therapy for chronic stress, burnout, and perfectionism is grounded in the reality that life doesn’t get less busy and we may never finish our to-do lists. The goal is to help an individual seek out values-based, meaningful experiences rather than saying yes to everything. In session work might include identifying and discussing values, exploring how current commitments align (or don’t align) with values, help with boundary setting and saying no, and quieting negative thoughts.

Therapeutic approaches include mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, values work, and existential therapy.
