While sadness is a universal part of the human experience, depression leaves individuals feeling empty, unmotivated, worthless, guilty, and overwhelmed. Depression distorts an individuals thoughts about themselves, robs them of their energy, and contributes to feelings of hopelessness and helplessness.

Treatment may include helping you identify triggers for depressed mood, developing an incremental action plan to make small behavior changes, and creating a more objective or positive internal dialogue about yourself and your capabilities.
