What will my coverage be?
It is possible for services to be covered in full or in part. Please contact your provider to verify how your plan compensates you for psychotherapy services. The following questions should help you to determine your benefits:
Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?
Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?
What percentage of the service charge am I responsible for?
Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?
Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?
The benefits of seeing an out-of-network therapist
Seeing an out-of-network therapist can afford you more privacy, and a clinical diagnosis is less likely to follow you around or prevent you from receiving other types of insurance (e.g., life insurance).
Your insurance may place restrictions on the number of in-network sessions you can have in a calendar year.
If you switch jobs, or your job switches insurance providers, you may be vulnerable to needing to switch your therapist. It can be challenging to switch therapists after building a relationship.
Out of network therapy opens the door for more personalized, unique, and holistic care. Out-of-network therapists can offer longer or more frequent sessions than insurance might cover (e.g., 90 minutes, twice weekly). You can also explore creative, holistic solutions, such as in-home visits to help prepare meals or create the ideal bedroom or office space.
What to Expect
Sessions are individually tailored and evidence-based. This means the therapeutic interventions I use are backed by research and have been shown to be highly effective. During our sessions you can expect me to be nonjudgmental and supportive, while simultaneously encouraging you to make changes and expand your thinking.
Sessions may focus on unlearning thoughts and habits that no longer serve you, developing new coping skills, and uncovering new patterns of thinking and acting that align with who you want to be and how you want to feel.
It’s normal for change to happen gradually. Most clients report meaningful and noticeable progress after several weeks or months of regular sessions.

I adhere to the highest standards of confidentiality and privacy. Sessions are confidential, and information storage is HIPPA compliant and secure.
